What is OMT?

Osteopathic manipulation treatment, or OMT is an advanced form of hands-on care. It involves using hands to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness and injury. Using OMT, your osteopathic physician will move your muscles and joints using techniques that may incorporate stretching, gentle pressure and resistance.

Who can benefit from OMT?

OMT can help people of all ages and backgrounds. It Can:  ease pain, promote healing and increase mobility.

OMT is often used to treat patients for muscle and back pain. But it can also help patients with other health problems, among them: asthma, sinus disorders, Carpral tunnel syndrom, migrains and menstral pain.

When appropriate OMT can complement- and even replace- medications or surgery. As a consequence, OMT is an important part of standard medical care.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please make sure that you arrive to the physician’s clinic at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time so that you can provide us the necessary paperwork and information to put you into our system. To save time, you can also print the New Patient Forms located on our forms page and bring them filled out to your appointment.

Wear loose fitting clothing to facilitate your treatment and examination.

How is the doctor-patient relationship different here, compared to other hospitals or clinics?

We believe that our staff members are leaders in providing patient-focused care. We take the time to listen to patients’ concerns and address any questions they may have. We are a physician’s clinic that values all of our patients and appreciate the long-lasting relationships we create with them.
